We’ve been told that our name is a bit strange and confusing. And we get that, but we also chose it very intentionally. The Bible refers to Christians as “citizens of heaven,” people who live in this kingdom today but actually belong to a different kingdom, God’s kingdom. As a part of that, we are meant to live in a way that is distinct and different, under the kingship of Jesus Christ. At Citizens Church, we want our lives and actions to reflect that truth and to be an answer to the Lord’s Prayer, making things here on earth as they are in heaven.
Know, love, trust, and obey King Jesus above all else
Loving & serving all people with the love of Jesus
Proclaim Christ and His Kingdom in word and deed
We love and value families at Citizens Church. Our hearts are to raise up the next generation, teaching our children to love and follow Jesus the rest of their lives. That said, we know that raising kiddos can be challenging and tiring. That’s why we partner with parents, supporting you with care and resources that will help with family discipleship.
We often say that it’s OK to not be OK. None of us has this thing figured out, and as we pursue Jesus together, we’re all struggling and stumbling along the way. Yet we believe God loves us despite us, and it’s that grace that transforms and changes us. As a church, we want to extend that same grace to one another because we all need it.
The good news of the gospel is at the heart of all that we are and everything that we do. From the pulpit to the Preschool ministry, we want to center every aspect of our lives and our church on the story of Jesus, our good and gracious God reconciling all things back to Himself through the life, death and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
