About Lindsey

I grew up in a family with believing parents, grandparents, and siblings. The love and servant-heartedness of Jesus was spoken of and modeled in our home and among extended family. One Sunday during communion, the plate was passed over me and I called my mom out on it! She told me that we would talk about it later. That experience sparked questions that led my parents to share the plan of salvation with me, more specifically, through scripture and a gospel tract. At the age of 5 years old I was convicted of my sin and understood my need for a savior, Jesus Christ. I prayed to receive Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior in our home and shortly after I followed through in believer’s baptism at our home church.

As a ministry kid, my family moved several times throughout the years. Early on it was difficult for me to understand why we were always having to pick up and move away from family and friends and learn new people and places. As I grew older, the Lord began to help me see himself at work both in the life of my family and through the various ministries that he allowed us to be a part of. Although it was difficult at times it was also an absolute joy and a gift that I would not return! I learned that God is at work in many peoples’ lives, in many different ways, and in many different places. We serve a BIG God!

At age 17, through the discipleship that I received in my home, in church, and various youth retreats and camps, I sensed and responded to a call to ministry. I did not know then specifically what that would look like or where all the Lord would lead me but I knew that I wanted to be used by the Lord for his glory in using the gifts that he had given me to minister to those around me. Since that time I have had the privilege of serving as a Ministry Program Coordinator for a youth evangelism training event, a nanny, and a member of the Welcome Team here at Citizens.

My Hope for Citizens Church

My hope for Citizens is that each and every person who participates in the life of the church would feel seen and loved, and that they would encounter the presence of Jesus with a sense of belonging, whether as a first-time guest or a long-time member.
