Associate Training Minister

The Associate Training Minister serves in the Training ministry by supporting the mission to teach the Bible and Christian theology in order to make fully-formed disciples of Jesus Christ. The Associate Training Minister will work under the direction of the Training Director and Theological Training Minister to coordinate ministry events, assist in developing new classes, write/select curriculum, develop and coordinate ministry leaders, teach in bible classes, and contribute through various day-to-day activities related to the Training ministry.


Job Responsibilities

Men's and Women’s Bible Class
  • Aid in oversight and coordination of classes
  • Assist in curriculum selection and development
  • Teach in bible classes
  • Build out scope and sequence collect recommended resources
  • Partner with the Communications team to ensure accurate and timely information
  • Oversee administration, registration, and volunteer coordination
  • Provide volunteer training, resources, direction, and feedback
Theological Training Program / Institute
  • Aid in in development and execution, as needed
  • Partner with the Communications team to ensure accurate and timely information
  • Oversee administration, registration, and volunteer coordination
  • Teach in training classes
  • Provide volunteer training, resources, direction, and feedback
  • Provide resources, oversight, and direction, as needed
  • Help to develop church-wide theological resources
Training Events and Forums
  • Alongside Training team build out scope for trainings, forums, and events
  • Research potential speakers, secure speakers and other event-related details
  • Collaborate with other ministry departments to execute events
  • Collaborate with other ministry departments for developing resources
Develop and nurture a culture of theological discipleship & lay leadership
  • Help to equip lay leaders to faithfully engage Scripture and pass on sound theology\
  • Disciple and recruit new leaders
  • Provide ministerial prayer and care for all congregants, with a particular focus on those engaged in the Training ministry
  • Be available for questions and discussions with church members and volunteers

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 3+ years of ministry experience / Preference for Th.M or equivalent
  • Proficient in biblical literacy and theology
  • Effective communicator, ability to teach to large groups preferred
  • Attentive to detail, organized, disciplined, self-starter
  • A history of proven discipleship relationships
  • Able to problem solve, manage conflict, and work well on diverse teams
  • Basic understanding of the vision for Training Ministry
  • Not quarrelsome but gentle and humble in both giving and receiving correction
  • Commitment to ongoing theological study and personal spiritual growth
