Sending Intern
I grew up in a military family that moved all around the world, and we were also a Christian household. Though acquainted with Jesus through Sunday school and youth group, a disconnect lingered between my head and my heart. Basketball, an early passion, became my identity. In high school, I began to wrestle with my identity in God's eyes versus society's perception.
After graduating in 2019, my path led me to a small Christian University in Iowa, where my struggle with identity persisted. I transferred to UT Dallas, where I encountered the Citizens Church College ministry. It was there that the gospel finally resonated, shedding light on the weight of my sins. Jesus met me at that moment, unveiling that my identity transcends basketball and past mistakes; it rests in Him, beckoning me to walk in His light.
Since my time at UTD, the Lord has enriched my understanding and ignited a passion for Him and the lost, locally and globally. Since joining Citizens Church, I have found profound encouragement and love within this church family.
My hope for Citizens Church is that we seek God's will and foster a mindset centered on the gospel in all our endeavors. May our hearts expand for one another and for those yet to know Him. Let prayer be our instinctive response to everything, reflecting a deep alignment with God's will rather than trying to fit it into our lives.
